MYAN is the leading national voice promoting the rights and interests of young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in Australia.
Ahead of the 2022 federal election, Humankind worked with MYAN to develop and promote its Election Policy Platform - which called out what the Federal Government should do to invest in programs and strategies that advance a strong, cohesive, multicultural society, with an intentional focus on the experiences and futures of young people.

Commencing with a series of focus groups with young people from MYAN’s Youth Ambassador Network and Youth CALD Disability Collective, we supported MYAN to develop their Election Policy Platform.
We then developed a set of key messaging around the policy platform, and a strategic media plan that would see these policy asks featured in mainstream media, highlighted by the voices of multicultural young people.
The end result was a broad range of mainstream media interviews and stories including a video feature and panel discussion on news.com.au, a feature on youth in Western Sydney in Junkee, a online feature and radio feature on SBS, and features in ABC triple j Hack, ABC Perth, (audio not available), and opinion editorials by MYAN youth representatives in The West Australian and the Herald Sun.
